The Process

Wild Harvesting

Local Tanzanian harvesters carefully collect the sea moss by hand, ensuring only mature strands are picked to protect the environment and maintain sustainable growth cycles. This method keeps the ecosystem balanced and supports the livelihoods of coastal communities.

Sun Drying Naturally

Once harvested, the sea moss is gently rinsed with clean ocean water to remove sand, shells, and marine debris. It is then laid out in the African sun for natural drying, which preserves its nutrients without the need for chemical preservatives or heat processing.

Quality Sorting & Cleaning

After drying, each batch is inspected by hand. Any imperfect or broken pieces are removed, and the sea moss is lightly washed again to ensure it meets export quality standards.

Packing for Freshness

The dried sea moss is packed in breathable, food-grade bags to keep it dry, clean, and nutrient-rich during its journey. Every bag is labeled for traceability — so we know exactly which coastal village it came from.

Importing to the USA

Our shipments are air-freighted or sea-freighted directly from Tanzania to the U.S., clearing FDA import inspections and meeting strict food safety regulations. From there, it arrives at our facility, ready to be transformed into raw, retail-ready dried sea moss or our signature Royal Purple Sea Moss Gel.
